WATCHTOWER / HELP
From installation to understanding.
Get started with the invited alpha, understand its permissions, and find help from Deep Well Labs.
Start with the alpha brief.
- Check that your Mac has Apple Silicon and runs macOS 26 or later.
- Read the invited-alpha tester brief. If you do not have it, contact the founder before installing.
- Download the DMG from the releases page and drag Watchtower into Applications.
- Launch from Applications and approve the network extension in System Settings. Follow the macOS prompts for the extension and filter.
- Follow the brief to configure supported agent integrations. Inspect sensor status before assuming that activity is being recorded.
Common questions.
Why is activity missing?
Check sensor status, macOS permissions and the relevant agent integration. MCP traffic must pass through the proxy. A network connection might expose only an IP address, and an agent can act without reporting everything. Review coverage and limits.
Why is a model reading unavailable?
Check Apple Intelligence and on-device model availability. Watchtower uses the system’s Foundation Models framework; it does not switch to a cloud model. Deterministic records remain separate from the model’s readings.
How do I install a license?
Alpha is free of charge for each build’s fixed validity period. Updating is required after expiration; installing a license cannot extend an alpha. When paid licenses become available, save the signed license file delivered after purchase, open Settings in Watchtower and choose or drop the file in the License section. Verification happens on your Mac.
What if a license file is rejected or lost?
Contact Phillip Quack using the address below. Do not post your license, receipts or personal records publicly. Resend and renewal procedures will be finalized before paid sales open.
Can I turn update checks off?
Yes. Settings includes “Check for updates automatically” and information about what an update check sends. You can also check manually. Licensing adds no network check.
How do I uninstall?
Use Watchtower’s uninstall flow to restore MCP configurations it changed and remove the extension before removing the app. Follow the alpha brief. Deleting the app alone is not a substitute for restoring integrations. Export any records you want to keep before choosing to delete data.
Before paid sales open.
Purchases are not yet available. The purchase terms, refund policy, checkout privacy information and license-delivery timeframe will be published and reviewed before checkout opens. This page is not a substitute for those policies.
The intended payment provider is Paddle. The product’s offline licensing design does not revoke an issued license after a refund. Refund requests and payment questions will follow the published purchase policy.
